We Have Arrived! (Our Annex, That Is)

It's official, we've landed on Driggs! No no, it's not a move. Our little storefront remains happily ever after at 219 Bedford. But follow the scent of a burning Fig Leaf candle two blocks north, and you'll find yourself at 540 Driggs Avenue, home of Catbird Wedding Annex. It's an intimate place we created especially for seekers of shimmering stones and golden bands. 

We designed the space as a room for three - you, your other half, and an expert Catbirdette. A crystal ship chandelier and a neon sign - Oh My Stars - dances light across worn wood floors. Smokey stones set in rose gold, roughly-hewn bands, and instant heirlooms line dove-grey cabinets with gilded knobs. A black and white of Jane and Serge hangs tacked to a corner wall.

Through the year, we'll also be unveiling exclusive designs from both our favorite jewelers and our own studio. We can't wait to show you new pieces here first. xo. 

Catbird Wedding Annex is open Sat and Sun, 10 to 6 pm and Fridays by appointment.

Lunch Lady: Girl Crush

So by this point it's pretty obvious that our obsession with Dina's taco truck (La Troca Del Sabor on N4th btwn Bedford and Berry) has gotten a liiiiiittle out of hand. At first it was maybe just a few of us waiting in line once or twice a week and now it's come to the point where if you even mention the word taco you will have a lunch list as long as Melissa's arm within seconds. Veggie Burrito- no rice, Pork Burrito- no cheese & extra sour cream, 2 Veggie Tacos- no peppers, Chicken Taco- extra onion & no cilantro, a million Coca Cola Classics, extra hot sauce, extra cream, etcetera etcetera. I have to say the orders get pretty wild sometimes and she never messes up.

Soooo Lizzie came up with the awesome idea of giving her a Christmas gift! Actually she's been talking about giving Dina a gift since like July or something, that's how far the obsession goes. So all of us Catbirdettes decided a cute pair of our SS Heart Studs were the perfect way to go. And as you can see she was beyond thrilled!!

So here's to Catbird's Woman Of The Year- Dina <3

I spotted this Valentino ad while flipping through magazines at brunch a few weeks ago, and now the sandals for me are up on Net-a-Porter, and I have spent too much time amortizing the $1095 price-tag with an non-mathemitican approved formula of costs per wear + the desire for perfection = still too much. I am slapping myself on my wrist, and closing that window, but oh! sandals, I do love you.

Lilac Wine.

The color of Neko Case's walls, offset with the black lampshade, really speaks to me. When my husband was little he thought purple was a mystical color. I think he still does. I've always loved a certain shade of lilac, and violet even more, but thinking of my husband as an 8 year old, channeling creative energies in a purple tee shirt makes me love these shades all the more.
