Meet a Kitten: Jeanette

I could be biased, but I believe that of all the things that make our line unique, the ultimate factor is that it is made right here in our Brooklyn studio by an awesome set of local New York women. Did you ever wonder what went into making the elegant heart ring in your ring stack? New York City born and raised musician Jeanette knows because she just so happens to be one of the eighteen jewelers working out of our Williamsburg studio.

Jeanette and I spent Wednesday afternoon on a sunny bench outside of our favorite taco joint, La Superior. She brought along one of her most treasured items, an acoustic Takamine with photos of her mother pasted on the back, where they're close to her heart as she plays.

BILL

If you ever thought that there was maybe a method to Bill Murray's particular form of Zen, Vulture has organized it into an easy to digest list! And at the risk of sounding like a book review cliché,  it really is surprisingly poignant.

"So what’s it like to be me? You can ask yourself, What’s it like to be me? You know, the only way we’ll ever know what it’s like to be you is if you work your best at being you as often as you can, and keep reminding yourself: That’s where home is."

Obsession: Alexandra Kehayoglou

Our resident lunch lady showed me Argentinian artist, Alexandra Kehayoglou's work recently and I can't believe my eyes. She makes carpets that look like magical secret gardens or the exact beach front I have been day dreaming about lately. Now this is how you can get some nature into your New York sized apartment.

Hats off to you, Alexandra. Truly a beautiful talent.

Photos found on the artist's website here.

XOXO

Lunch Lady: Girl Crush

<3 <3 <3

So by this point it's pretty obvious that our obsession with Dina's taco truck (La Troca Del Sabor on N4th btwn Bedford and Berry) has gotten a liiiiiittle out of hand. At first it was maybe just a few of us waiting in line once or twice a week and now it's come to the point where if you even mention the word taco you will have a lunch list as long as Melissa's arm within seconds. Veggie Burrito- no rice, Pork Burrito- no cheese & extra sour cream, 2 Veggie Tacos- no peppers, Chicken Taco- extra onion & no cilantro, a million Coca Cola Classics, extra hot sauce, extra cream, etcetera etcetera. I have to say the orders get pretty wild sometimes and she never messes up.

Soooo Lizzie came up with the awesome idea of giving her a Christmas gift! Actually she's been talking about giving Dina a gift since like July or something, that's how far the obsession goes. So all of us Catbirdettes decided a cute pair of our SS Heart Studs were the perfect way to go. And as you can see she was beyond thrilled!!

So here's to Catbird's Woman Of The Year- Dina <3

We love you. Unconditionally. Forever and Ever. Until the end of time.

XoXo
