Lucky duck.

I am so jealous of whomever gets this one of a kind ring. The most beautiful grey diamond set in Conroy & Wilcox's signature teardrop style. Swoon.

Holiday Scents

Our house line of candles has been getting some love around the web. Read what Into The Gloss and Closet Vanity have to say about it.

Campfire in particular makes a fantastic holiday scent. It's a bit unexpected (no pine! no cinnamon!), yet it's warm and earthy and super smokey. It's also a completely unisex scent, making it a great thing to stock up on for those extra gifts you always need.

Catbird Campfire Candle: Full Size $32 or Travel Tin $12

GIFT GUIDE: for your wife

Our first in our annual series. This one is geared towards those looking to give their true love something really special.

A short addendum for the MEN: You may think your wife doesn't want jewelry, but after years of helping people, let me tell you something: She does. Really. (The exception is a vacation. If that's what you plan on giving, well, nothing beats that.)

Stop, Look and Listen.

Kim not only created the book, she also made this video, and sang the song. Breathtaking.

Stars and Ampersands!

Cheeky new additions to our best-selling Alphabet studs! Available as pairs, or with letters of your choice. In gold and silver.

We Have Been Working Hard for You!

Our expanding ornament selection.

Our Holiday Card section.
We have been slaving through our various illnesses to bring you what you demanded last year: more of our holidays selection on line. The response has been overwhelming! We will, without a doubt, sell out of all of our holiday items so I recommend moving quick like this Winter Bunny, who, really, is a little on the chubby side, so perhaps he is not too quick.

InStyle Gift Guide

Beautiul and easy - one of our absolute favorite gifts for someone really special.

Star Struck

I have had this photo on my desktop forever, and I just today realized it is one of our customers. I won't say who. Photo by Courtney Brooke.

(She's not actually wearing these earrings, but you can.)

Finally here!

I have entirely lost track of how many Bittersweets famous letter rings I have given as gifts. They are tiny and perfect and personal and I have never not had someone's face light up when they unwrap the box.  I swear it to be so.

Bittersweets famous letter rings, now available online! (an in store) $125

Thanks Refinery29.

Call the bobbies!

Regarde! I love a heist movie, a good mystery and a clever design - this here new calendar is the perfect union of all three. In the endlessly appealing style of Mr. Boddington's Studio.

Designer Q&A with Joanna Lingnau

Where did you grow up?
I grew up on Bainbridge Island, Washington, just a short ferry ride from Seattle.

What did you dream you'd be when you grew up?
Funny, my 3 year old just asked me if I wanted to be jewelry designer "when I grew up" this morning! I was always a little designer, but I dreamt of being a concert pianist. I designed Carnegie Hall performance gowns for my barbies.

Who/what is your style inspiration?
Photos of our mothers when they were young and we were little. There must be something about the light or the film… they always looks so beautiful and chic without even trying.

What was the last great book you read?
Recently: The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson and Tiny Fey’s Bossypants. Old favorite: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I love why people give my jewelry to one another... for engagements, weddings, motherhood, friendship, anniversaries... celebrating love and the best moments in life.

What is your favorite way to spend a Sunday?
Hanging out at the beach with my husband and two little girls, followed by a delicious dinner where nothing gets spilled.

80s or 90s?
90’s

John or Paul?
Charlie Watts

What do you covet at Catbird?
The Linda Rodin Face Oil and a Polly Wales ring are on my wish list.

featured in this post: Eternity Snake Necklace, $980; Rose Gold Arielle Studs, $398; Glynnis Eternity Band, $1,398; Nora Ring, $430; Nick Ring, $790

Catbird is looking for a Web Design Intern!

Do you have a good eye, a good head, and are nice to work with? We are looking for someone to help design our constantly changing home pages and other web-related design jobs. (Many of them quite fun!) There's room for growth and for you to really bring ideas to the table. In the past our design internships have quickly lead to paid positions. Please send a link and/or a sample to rony@catbirdnyc.com.

Love.

I am wild about this tattoo/ring combo. Wild, I tell you.

(This happens to be a sneak peek at something we cooked up with someone special last week.)

Mirrored Steps

I can not focus today - at all. One day I want to do this to steps in a house that I will one day own. One day. Maybe that day I will focus.
