Dez'Mon Omega Fair, Our Honorary Bird

A few things about Dez'Mon: he is as sweet as they come, hails from the South, wears crowns on his head, layered First Knuckle Rings on his hands, clearly making him one of the most stylish gentlemen trotting around Brooklyn. He was also one of my very first introductions to Catbird and he happens to be one of my best, most talented friends.

On top of being an honorary Catbird, Dez also works for The Journal Gallery as well as our delicious neighbors over at Pies'n'Thighs and in his private time, he works with watercolors creating paintings that have their very own identities. We feel so insanely lucky to have two of his one-of-a-kind pieces hanging in our Cat Cave and we are extra excited for Dez's first solo exhibition! If you're in New York be sure to check out his pieces hanging at the Williamsburg Library, 240 Division, until April 6. xx coco

PS here is a lil' sneak peak of the work you'll see there!

Fashion tips from the Renaissance era

I think we can all agree that ladies and gentlemen of the Renaissance era knew fashion - I mean, take a look at this fancy lady wearing a bejeweled collar necklace as well as her very own First Knuckle Ring!

The Daily Beast's Misty White Sidell made us blush with her kind words, saying " In New York City, cool girls flock to the tiny Brooklyn jewelry store Catbird to snap up the boutique's own brand of Memory Rings, which it has produced in silver, rose and yellow gold since 2006."

We warmly welcome you, ladies, as First Knuckle Rings are something we absolutely adore. We love a single First Knuckle Ring worn on an other wise bare hand or stacked across each of your first knuckles or even just simply worn as a pinky ring. And oh boy, do we love them paired with a fancy manicure!

Into The Gloss!

Us birds are avid Into The Gloss readers, some of us visit the blog daily as a part of our morning ritual.  To say that we were excited to see Emily + Eniko Mihalik wearing piles of our First Knuckle Rings during their Sally Hansen x ITG Nail Parties would be an understatement! We can't wait to give the Insta Gel Strips& Gel Polish a try. And Nick, your manicures were awfully nice but no man First Knuckle Rings..?

How We Wear It!

Signing onto our social media sites, let it be Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram or Pinterest my absolute favorite part is discovering how all of our friends are wearing and showing off our jewels.

We have updated our ever-expanding How We Wear It gallery filled up with gorgeous stacks created by our very own customers! We would love to see your stacks - email photos to correy@catbirdnyc.com.

How We Wear It: Melissa

There is absolutely no denying that our bird, Melissa, can build a stack that will make anyone jealous. The best part about her beautiful hands, she's constantly changing her look - switching and mixing rings up, continually creating brand new stacks.

Lets start with Melissa's thumb ring which is a whisper thin Threadbare, $44; next comes her Constellation Stack that lives on her first finger: (bottom to top) Star Ring, $96 in yellow gold; Seed Ring, $215; Dark Side of the Moon Ring, $122; Star Ring, $56 in sterling silver; Twisted Stacker, $64; custom Claire Kinder Studio Ring; First Knuckle Ring; $38 for full size in sterling silver.

Center finger: First Knuckle Ring, $64 in yellow gold; the chain of her Jacquie Aiche Finger Bracelet, $498.

Ring Finger: Threadbare, $44; First Knuckle Ring, $74 for full size in yellow gold; two custom sterling silver pieces.

Pinky Finger: (bottom to top) First Knuckle Ring, $64 in rose gold; Tiny Chain Ring, $64; First Knuckle Ring, $64 in rose gold; Twisted Stacker, $64.

Lets be real Melissa's hands are the epitome of a Catbird hand and don't worry, her other hand will be featured soon enough and perhaps a few more of her looks after that ;) xx coco.

How We Wear It: Kensey

Our Australian dream boat, Kensey, is as sweet as they come and she has hands to match. Keeping things beautifully basic, Kensey simply wears single rings and First Knuckle Rings on top.

Beginning with her right hand she is wearing a Bittersweets Teensy Diamond Ring, $195, on her pinky; Dark Side of the Moon Ring, $122 on her ring finger; First Knuckle Ring, $28, in sterling silver on her index finger.

On her left hand she is wearing a First Knuckle Ring, $64, in yellow gold on her index finger; Twisted Stacker, $64, on her center finger and an Odette New York Klaia Triangle Ring, $110, on her ring finger.

How We Wear It: Anna

As a lady who is enamored by jewelry, hands and jewels are typically the first two things I'm going to check out. I will admit, I have been shamelessly eyeing Anna's hands for a couple of days now trying to figure out what was so charming about them and I finally figured it out!! She wears her jewelry with such simple ease and she is always wearing an under the radar manicure with just the right amount of sparkle!

I'm also a sucker for a good tattoo and if she didn't have me already, she won me over with her home tattoo and her little baby heart.

Anna wears a First Knuckle Ring, $64, on the knuckle of her left pinky, a Twisted Stacker, $64, on her neighboring pinky and a Threadbare, $44, on her ring finger.

What We Love Today: First Knuckle Rings

One Freja Beha Erichsen, rockin' Catbird First Knuckle Rings.

This weekend, while working at the store, I was so happy to see how many lovely ladies were wearing, or buying, our signature First Knuckle Rings. About ten years ago (eep!) I bought a toe ring and started wearing it on my first knuckle and I haven't taken it off since. (Seriously.)

While others are now making versions of them, ours are the original and have been road-tested like no others. Also the fact that they are available in 14k gold means that you can just leave them on and not worry about them (aka lose them).

First Knuckle Rings: 14k Yellow Gold, $64  /  14k Rose Gold $64  /  Sterling Silver $28

How We Wear It: Lizzie

I'd venture to say that Lizzie has four of the coolest stacked fingers I have ever seen. There isn't a metal, stone or texture that this gal doesn't wear and, as you can see, she wears them all effortlessly.

Index Finger: houses a Satomi Kawakita + Bittersweets New York Sandwich - closest to her knuckle she wears The Tiniest Diamond Ring, $230, by Satomi. Beneath that she is wearing two Bittersweets Famous Letter Rings, starting at $125, with The Tiniest Ruby Ring, $190 in between.

Center Finger: she wears the chain of her Finger Bracelet, $385, with a dreamy antique Emerald she received from her grandparents for her 16th birthday directly above, Blanca Monrós Gómez Seed Ring, $215, Katrina Lapenne Braid Ring, $33 in sterling silver, Twisted Stacker, $64, and a First Knuckle Ring, $64.

Ring Finger: Yayoi Forest Crossing Ring, $326 in store, Bittersweets Marquise Twig Ring with an Opal, $650, and a First Knuckle Ring, $64.

Pinky: Silver Chain Ring, on sale! $20.

I obviously also have to mention that her smiley face tattoo is totally the best.

How We Wear It: Tina

Tina is our California babe, you can always find her with a smile on her face and as you can see, her hands are basically smiling on the daily from all the treats she stacks on them.

Lucky for Tina's hands, she inherited the beautiful opal flower from her mother and the gold flower from her aunt (wow-ee)!! She also wears a First Knuckle Ring, $64, on her ring finger with a Threadbare, $44, below. On her center finger she wears a Twisted Stacker, $64, on her top knuckle and two Tiny Chain Rings, $64, stacked with a First Knuckle Ring, $74 for sizes 5 and above.

Tina completes her hand's happiness with a teensy Threadbare, $44, as a thumb ring and a glittery Boom Boom Pow, $20, manicure.

How We Wear It: Baby Birds

Is there anything cuter than a tiny little hand sporting a tiny little ring? We don't think so.

Our First Knuckle Rings ($64/each in 14k gold, $28/each in sterling silver) are great for all the baby birds out there and as they get older they can move up their knuckles!

xx coco

(PS Sylvie + Leon are not only the cutest but also clearly have the most adorable manis ever.)
