Oh Rod. Perhaps my favorite card, ever. Today. Between Freaks & Geeks, Maira Kalman, Dirty Dancin'.... card makers are really hitting it out of the park. If I didn't know better I would think they were reading my diary.
P.S. I think this is a great wedding and/or new baby card. Especially for an already pregnant bride who is a Rod Stewart fan who knows the lyrics.

"The white chandelier is from Elizabeth Arden's walk in closet, which was probably bigger than our wee shop.”
Hey kittens, we're doing the Instagram thing that all the kids seem to love. I'm not totally pro at it yet, but our user name is catbirdnyc and this is the first photo we posted. See you somewhere out there, okay?

I can't help it - I still think this is the best summer song. (My husband pointed out the other day that the English probably have no great summer songs. I'm wondering if that's true.)

I say YAY!! As does Garance Doré in NY Mag (with an unfortunate picture, if you ask me). These wallet-friendly bell anklets harken back to summer camp and teen tours to Israel. You know what I'm talkin about. (Also: I super dig them with Correy's cute shoes.)
Bell anklets, $8. Available in store and on line.

Born in July? Well, first of all, Happy Birthday! Second of all, you are a lucky duck to have such a versatile and beautiful birthstone. My new favorites are these rough ruby studs with 14k gold prongs by catbird mainstay Lauren Wolf.

One of our customers might have designed the makeup for the new Spider-Man musical and she might have given spider webs from us as opening night gifts which made us so very giddy. We love good gifts.

Thanks design*sponge for totally agreeing with me that nothing beats neon pink macramé holders!
This image is actually from my living room. See, I fell so hard for these that I bought one before we even had them in the store. I couldn't even wait one week. Available in the store. Email for info.

Beautiful Selby, accessories editor of Vogue, pictured above, had these kind words to say, and we blush, pink, like her pants.
I never take off my top three necklaces, and they all have special meaning. The Demitasse absinthe spoon was a gift from a friend who appreciates my love of miniature things. The piece comes from one of my favorite jewelry boutiques, Catbird in Brooklyn.

Check out our Elizabeth Knight Frog Pearl Necklace in this month's Vogue. Have you ever heard of it? Just a small, little known rag. You know, whatever. Yawn.

Finally, linens fit for the laundry-hater. Or, for the party-thrower who lives in Brooklyn and doesn't want their food encrusted table linens sitting in the laundry basket until they haul it to the laundromat, hungover and wearing an evening gown (read: last stitch of clean clothing). Also makes a stellar gift.

Sally Singer, thanks for being so smart about things of beauty, and what they mean. Speaking of, we Catbirds have been wearing all sorts of sparkly nails lately. I'm stuck on Bring on the Bling, made with virgin diamond powder, the perfect wash of sheer shimmer for the summer. In the winter, I'll call it my Snow Queen look.
Deborah Lippmann nail polishes, $16-20, in store and online

Camille Cregan's jewelry stylings feel so very Catbird to me- delicate pieces, new and old in a hodge podge of metals, plus a memory ring and a super fine finger bracelet, to boot.
